Scratched Glass Claim Example

Mr Ascroft is a Polished Insurance policyholder. He had been advised by a longstanding client that one of his employees had been cleaning glass to remove paint, as instructed by the client. During the cleaning job the glass was scratched. Mr Ascroft and his employee were aware that there had been no scratches on the glass prior to the clean and therefore accepted that they had caused the damage to the glass.

Under the public liability clause, for damage caused to any item being cleaned, worked on, treated, or maintained, they proceeded to settle the claim made for an amount of £1,698.
